Non-Surgical Facelift
A Non-Surgical Facelift, also known as facial rejuvenation, is a combination of treatments designed to tackle numerous facial concerns, without the need for invasive surgery.
What is a Non-Surgical Facelift?
A Non-Surgical Facelift is an effective treatment for tackling common signs of ageing, including wrinkles, loss of volume and increased skin laxity. Medical concerns such as hyperpigmentation and scarring can also be successfully treated with a Non-Surgical Facelift.
The beauty of a Non-Surgical Facelift is that it can be specifically tailored to your specific needs and concerns.
A Non-Surgical Facelift usually includes a combination of non-surgical treatments which rejuvenate and enhance the appearance of the entire face.
Non-Surgical Facelift is most suited to patients in their 30s or 40s, who are looking for a quick, effective, non-invasive alternative to a surgical Facelift. A Non-Surgical Facelift is also a good way to help maintain the results of a previous surgical Facelift.
It is worth noting that a Non-Surgical Facelift only produces temporary results and the procedure will need to be repeated in order to maintain the overall results.

Why Do People Have Non-Surgical Facelift?
Non-Surgical Facelift is designed to address a range of functional and medical concerns, and can also deliver aesthetic improvements:
Medical reasons:
To restore facial structure and support lost through medical conditions.
To address laxity and volume depletion caused by injury or medical conditions in patients unsuitable for surgery.
To improve symmetry and soft tissue position following reconstructive or medical changes.
Aesthetic reasons:
To lift and refresh facial contours using a combination of injectable and energy-based treatments.
To restore youthful proportions and definition.
To enhance overall facial harmony while avoiding surgical downtime.
Benefits of Non-Surgical Facelift
Non-Surgical Facelift treatment has a number of benefits and there are many reasons why people opt for this treatment.
Versatile, bespoke treatment - During your consultation, your consulant will discuss your concerns and desired results. This will help them to create a treatment plan which suits your needs and will achieve the results you are hoping for. The different options and flexibility that the Non-Surgical Facelift provides means that you are able to effectively target your concerns.
No surgical intervention - The Non-Surgical Facelift involves no incisions, general anaesthetic or sedation, meaning you won't need to worry about the commitments that surgery can be associated with such as dressings.
Minimal downtime - Some of the treatments involved in the Non-Surgical Facelift may cause some short term bruising, swelling or dry skin. However, this will resolve on its own within a few days and won't impact your daily routine or stop you from working.
What Does Non-Surgical Facelift Involve?
Non-Surgical Facelift is a combination of treatments designed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and add volume in all areas of the face impacted by the ageing process. The overall effect is to deliver a refreshed, rejuvenated facial appearance. Common treatments included in a non surgical facelift treatment include:
Anti-Wrinkle Injections relax the underlying muscles in the face and neck to smooth and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. They can also prevent new lines and wrinkles from appearing.
Chemical Skin Peels
Chemical Peels exfoliate the skin and encourage the production of new skin cells, improving your skin health, as well as rejuvenating your appearance. We have a range of peels available here at the clinic which can be individually tailored to your skin type.
Dermal Fillers are an injectable treatment that restore volume in the skin lost due to age-related collagen depletion. Fillers can be used on common problems including ageing lines, nasolabial folds, crow's feet and frown lines.
Fillers can also be used to reduce hollowed areas of the face or to support sagging skin. This can occur in the cheeks and the upper face, around the temples.
Microneedling
Microneedling uses small needles to puncture the skin. This encourages a wound healing response, renewing skin cells and prompting new collagen and elastin development. Microneedling treats acne and surgical scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles, loose and non-elastic skin and stretch marks.
Why have a Non Surgical Facelift vs Surgical Facelift?
The benefit of a Non-Surgical Facelift is that it is quick, non-invasive, does not require general anaesthetic and has very little downtime. It is also possible to stage the treatment over a period of several months so the effects appear gradually over time and appear subtle, and natural to others.
A surgical Facelift is a better option if you are looking for more dramatic 'one-off' anti-ageing results that do not require ongoing maintenance and topping up.
Our consultants often recommend Non-Surgical Facelifts for younger patients who are just beginning to experience the effects of ageing in their 30s and 40s, before having a surgical Facelift at a later date. Equally, we also recommend a Non-Surgical Facelift for those looking to top-up and maintain the results of their surgical Facelift after a decade or so has elapsed.
Our specialist plastic surgeons can advise you on the best treatment plan to address your concerns and achieve your desired results.
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I suitable for a non-surgical facelift?
You are suitable for a non-surgical facelift if:
You are in good psychological and physical medical health
You have a positive outlook and realistic expectations of what can be achieved via treatment
You are seeking to eliminate or reduce signs of facial ageing
You are looking for a quick, effective, non-invasive solution, able to deliver long-lasting results
You are in your 30s and 40s and looking for an alternative to a surgical facelift, or delay the timing of when you may need one
You have already had a surgical facelift some years ago and are looking to maintain the results
Who will perform my non-surgical facelift treatment?
Who performs the exact treatments will depend on what precise combination of treatments comprises your bespoke plan.
We only offer consultant-led anti-ageing injectable and dermal filler treatments, performed by highly trained cosmetic dermatologists or plastic surgeons.
The majority of our laser and Ultherapy treatments are also only delivered by cosmetic dermatologists or plastic surgeons. Some milder treatments such as chemical skin peels and micro-needling can be performed by one of our aesthetic practitioners.
The Altan Tekin Clinic takes patient safety and patient outcomes extremely seriously. We insist on high-quality treatments delivered by highly trained practitioners as part of our medical philosophy and medical ethics approach.
When will I start to see results from a non-surgical facelift?
You should see immediate results following each individual treatment. The final results should start to fully resolve after about six weeks post-treatment. You can expect to see the best results three months after your non-surgical facelift treatment plan has ended. You should carefully follow all the aftercare instructions issued by your consultant to ensure you can enjoy the very best results from your non-surgical facelift.
Is it possible to undo my non-surgical facelift results?
Yes. The majority of treatments that comprise a non-surgical facelift are fully reversible.
That said, your consultant will look to layer results on top of each other gradually throughout your treatment plan, meaning you should be able to avoid a situation where results need to be reversed.
How long will my non-surgical facelift results last?
How long results last will depend on what type of treatment or procedure you get. With non-surgical procedures, it's likely you'll need to get them done regularly to maintain your desired results.
Your practitioner should advise you on when to return for a follow-up visit, but most patients will be able to tell on their own, as they'll notice the treatments wearing off.
With regular maintenance and proper treatment, it is possible for patients who start in their 30s to prevent the signs of ageing and maintain a very youthful look into their 50s.
In general, we consider non-surgical facelifts a temporary fix that can last one to two years, whereas a surgical facelift typically lasts 10 years.
Is a non-surgical facelift painful?
Anti-ageing injectables and dermal fillers require no cuts, incisions or stitches to be made, but it can feel like a tiny scratch or stinging sensation as the needle goes in and the treatment is applied.
Laser, micro-needling and Ultherapy treatments should also involve minimal pain.
For those feeling anxious, we can use a local anaesthetic to numb the area completely.
Is a non-surgical facelift safe?
Non-surgical facelift injections are very safe. Possible side effects include temporary bruising, swelling and asymmetry.
By avoiding surgery, however, you will avoid many of the side effects and risks associated with a more invasive approach.
Is there any downtime after a non-surgical facelift?
Downtime is very minimal, and most patients are able to return to their normal activities immediately after their treatment.
If you experience some swelling and bruising in the treated area, you should be able to cover any bruising with makeup.
How can I maintain my non-surgical facelift results?
Non-surgical facelifts are not permanent, typically lasting between one and two years, depending on the type of procedure or treatment which has been carried out. However, there are certain things you can do to maintain your results.
We strongly recommend that you quit smoking. Smoking is a major cause of premature ageing. Repetitive inhaling causes deep wrinkles to form around the eyes and mouth, while nicotine can cause blood vessels to narrow, leading to a reduced amount of oxygen and important nutrients reaching the skin cells. This can often result in an uneven skin tone. Smoking also leads to puffiness around the eyes and deep lines between the eyebrows. Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your skin.
You should also avoid excessive sun exposure. The sun’s UV rays damage the elastic fibres, causing the skin to wrinkle and sag. Just like smoking, excessive exposure to the sun is one of the biggest preventable causes of premature ageing.
Eventually, you will need further treatments to maintain the results of your non-surgical facelift. If you are looking for a more permanent solution, speak to one of our specialists about a surgical facelift.
What is the difference between a surgical and non-surgical facelift?
A non-surgical facelift is a minimally invasive alternative to a surgical facelift. Unlike a surgical facelift, there are no incisions, no downtime and the results can be seen immediately.
A non-surgical facelift, along with the micro facelift, is a more modern approach to a facelift. These non-surgical treatments work better on younger skin only displaying minor signs of ageing. When it comes to drooping, sagging skin and deep-set wrinkles on the face, a surgical facelift is the best option.
A surgical facelift is the only option to achieve a permanent result.
